The Time Before the Gate

Age of Beginnings- During this time, the magics, spirits and laws governing the world begin to take shape. Mountains rise, valleys are cut, the oceans carve the continents. Small animal skitter across the ground, fly across the sky and swim within the sea. The paradise of Aria, all things that grown from the ground, fly though the sky and walk about the ground fill every niche. The world is still in it’s infancy and is lush and ready for the next stage of life.

The Separation of

200,000 BG- Gods create the Elder Races: Dragons, Fey, etc.

180,000 BG- Gods create Mortal Races: Humans, Elves, Dwarves and Halflings

97,000 BG- Elven Civilization of Taer Cormaer, Elves indenture other Mortal Races

96,000 BG- Morn Elves leave Elurea and settle on the southern continent finding the land fit their needs, they dug in and built their cities far underground. The Morn named their new land Shadow Feld.

95,000 BG- Several tribes of Elves retreat into the forests, rejoining with the Fey, these Elves later become known as Feral Elves, completely abandoning civilization to live life as their primordial ancestors.

50,000 BG- Collapse of Taer Cormaer, Humans, Dwarves and Halflings migrate across the planet. Humans settle on the pre-Gate continent of Darost, which becomes the modern-day continent of Daegus. The Dwarves discover and settle the Deserts of Qu’besh, pre-Moon Dwarves are fragmented into hundreds of different tribes.

40,000 BG- Dwarven nomads wander the Deserts of Qu’besh; tribals wars cover the endless deserts, make peace, and resume hostilities for many years. Humans gather in tribal societies, worshipping their ancestors and totem spirits.

37,000 BG-

35,000 BG- Three Dwarven factions appear, the Followers of Tel’Domar, the Udrakar, and the Nomads ofthe Green Blade, each faction controls nearly one-third of what will become the Empire of Qu’besh. The leaders of the three factions are rumored to be three Brothers who founded their own tribes when their father did not appoint an heir. The battles that rared between the three factions killed thousands, eventually embroiling the Humans and Elves of the North and the South into the fights.

27,000 BG- The Three Factions are united by Uzak Tel’domor, the First Emperor of the Sands of Qu’besh. His dynasty would last until the First Dark Age of Qu’besh, 17,000 years later.

24,000 BG- and establish relations with the Human and Dwarven nations of the neighboring continent of Dequar.

20,000 BG- Dwarves war with the Elves of Elurea, who attempt to colonize the Western shores of Qu’besh, trade across the known world is destabilized. Shadowfeld enters the war arainst both sides; the Shadow Elves force a peace between the two nations, and once again retreated into their underground kingdom.

15,000 BG- Human tribes fight for land and begin to use fire-hardened spears and clay containers. Halflings immigrate to the ocean shores and end their hunter-gatherer phase, and become fisherman.

10,000 BG- First Dark Age of Qu’besh, the Purple Death crosses the Red Crags killing seventy percent of the Dwarven people. The Book of the Moon is written during this time by the Prophet Ephod, the Dw The Time Before the Gate

20,000 BR- Dwarves war with the Elves of Elurea, who attempt to colonize the Western shores of Qu’besh, trade across the known world is destabilized. Shadowfeld enters the war against both sides; the Shadow Elves force a peace between the two nations, and once again retreated into their underground kingdom.

15,000 BR- Human tribes fight for land and begin to use fire-hardened spears and clay containers. Halflings immigrate to the ocean shores and end their hunter-gatherer phase, and become fisherman.

7,000 BR- Human Proto-Kingdoms, large areas of land ruled by individual Chieftains, formal borders are not established. Elves retreat to the floating continent of Elurea, sealing their civilization away from the shorter lived races. Halflings take the oceans on primitive ships; inhabit the small islands across the world, formal borders not established. The first human shamans begin to wander the world, bringing stability to the tribal humans.

6,500 BR- First Empire of Qu’besh, Dwarven civilization enters its first golden age of peace and prosperity, Dwarves expand borders south of the Red Crags into tribal lands, assimilating or conquering the various Human tribes encountered.

6,000 BR- The various peoples of the Purple Veldt unite under the Great Khan to drive the Dwarves from their lands, pushing the borders back to the North of the Red Crags. The Great Khan dies in battle and his kingdom fragments into the Riders of the Purple Veldt, the Pridelands and the Riders of the Purple Veldt. First Human kingdoms form on Dagost; Elurean Elves initiate several wars on the Humans, eventually causing the collapse of the kingdoms.

5,500 BR- Second Dark Age of Qu’besh, the Purple Death is brought back by Dwarven troops, this outbreak only kills fifty percent of the Dwarven population, and the Empire of Qu’besh dissolves into dozens of smaller nations, each attempting to conquer the other.

4,500 BR- Second Empire of Qu’besh, the Grand Sultan Dahu reunites the Empire of Qu’besh and disappears into the desert after his first son is born.

4,000 BR- Second Human nations on Dagost, Empire of Qu’besh establish diplomatic relations and alliances with the Human nations, Elurean Elves attempt to use force to dissolve Human nations, Dwarven forces repel Elven invasion. Qu’besh declares war on Elurea; Elves remove all colonies back to Elurea as Dwarves and Humans decimate Elven forces on Dagost.

3,000 BR- Last of Dwarven forces leave Dagost, diplomatic ties with Humans continue.

2,000 BR- Elurean civilization slowly decays; no clear military or political victories erode Elven morale.

1,000 BR- First Alliance of Human nation s blockade Elurea, attempt to crush Elves as a viable world power, Elurea declares war on Humans.

1 BR- Elves open the Gate after Human forces invade and conquer the Southern tip of Elurea. The first Orcs, Goblins and aberrations enter the world through the Gate and are set to war against the Humans. After several months of siege, the Humans are driven off of Elurea; Orcish forces armed with Goblin technology descend into the Human nations, the tide of war quickly turning against the Human and their allies.

The Time After the Gate

18 AR- Elves lose control of the Gate causing the release of planar creatures, Outsiders, Monstrous Humanoids, and Undead into the world. The Elven populace is subjected to the Days of Blood, during which eighty percent of the Elven people are slaughtered, beaten, raped and tortured, Humans negotiate a cease-fire and then surrender of the Elven people, finally an alliance is formed with Elves. The war against the Orcs and Goblins ends after the Sacrifice of St. Vessa, lifting the Curse of Rage from the Orcs and the Yoke of Cowardice from the Goblins. Human, Orc and Goblin force evacuate remaining Elven population from Elurea; Elves create government in-exile in Western Dagost.

34 AR- Humans, Orcs and Goblins create the Alliance Kingdoms, and designate the Human city of Throne Hold as the capital. Elves continue their exile, their population never again attaining the level from before the opening of the Gate.

70 AR- The Gate creatures launch an offensive against all nations of the world. The Decimation kills ten percent of the world’s population; all nations fight a losing battle against the endless forces entering the world from the Gate.

76 AR- The Grand Alliance invades Elurea, the Circle of Thirteen breach the former Elven palace intent on closing the Gate. Ten-thousand Human, Orc, Goblin, Halfling, and Elven soldiers die assaulting Elurea, the Circle of Thirteen reach the Gate and with their sacrifice are able to close the Gate. The continent of Elurea explodes, raining destruction across the world, thousands die within the first few moments, thousands more die in the fires, famine and disease caused by the fallout of Elurea’s destruction. Humans lose connection to Arcane magic, Elves lose connection to Divine magic, theorized to have been a punishment from the Gods.

81 AR- The world enters into an Great Ice Age, created by the destruction of Elurea, wars rage across the world as the nations fight over limited food and water supplies.

4000 AR- The Ice Age ends, the First Age of Prosperity begins, and Elves have settled the two remnants of Elurea to the East and West of Dagost.

4,523 AR- The human nations of Northern Dagost declare complete independence from the Alliance Kingdom and Tarcania. Dwarven people convert to the worship of Lord Moon.
